An advocate in the global effort to increase access to education through innovation has joined the board of directors at Graduation Alliance.

Jamie Nacht Farrell has driven growth in multiple organizations that apply technology-enabled solutions to educational challenges. Now she will apply her expertise and experience as a board member at Graduation Alliance, which is dedicated to ensuring Americans can access opportunities through education and training to find and keep meaningful, living-wage careers in the 21st century economy.

“We were exceptionally pleased to welcome Jamie to our team,” said Graduation Alliance Chief Operating Officer Ron Klausner. “At Graduation Alliance, everything we do starts with creating opportunity for arguably the most disenfranchised people in our nation, high school dropouts. It’s not hard to find people who will say that’s noble or even a great idea, but it takes a special person to say it’s their passion. Jamie has that passion.”

Farrell was the founding chief operating officer and chief revenue officer for Trilogy Education, which partners with universities in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Australia and Germany to facilitate training programs that bridge the digital skills gap. Before that, she held executive- and advisory-level positions in organizations like Andela, which builds software engineering teams in Africa, and 2U, which creates educational opportunities for lifelong learners, including credit-bearing courses and degree programs in partnership with universities around the world.

“Graduation Alliance is all about impact. It touches so many lives — from hospitalized and homebound teenagers to working-age adults who didn’t get a chance to graduate high school and need education and job training to earn living-wage jobs. The unmatched scale they’ve achieved is only the beginning,” Farrell said. “I’m greatly looking forward to helping this organization extend its reach. There are millions more lives to be changed.”
