SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 18, 2015 — Graduation Alliance is partnering with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to feature Connect!, the firm’s online career exploration and education planning platform, during the Spring 2015 National College Fair. The Connect! Corner will be staffed by knowledgeable platform experts prepared to assist Miami-Dade students and families in making the most of their free Connect! account.

Sponsored by the National Association for College Admissions Counseling and led by the Division of Student Services at Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Miami National College Fair will be hosted Sunday, Feb. 22 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport and Convention Center. More than 200 colleges and universities from around the country are expected to attend the fair and meet with a historic number of student attendees. In 2014, more than 12,000 students and families attended the fair; an attendance of more than 15,000 is anticipated at this year’s fair.

“This is the third time our exploration and planning tools have been showcased at the fair and it’s an event we look forward to year after year,” said Marie DeMego, chief marketing officer at Graduation Alliance. “Since 2012, Miami-Dade has been making the platform available to students and families as early as eighth grade. They have an admirable commitment to early and ongoing student planning for careers that will be in demand — and emphasize what post-secondary training and education is required to obtain those careers.”

“We’re happy to have Graduation Alliance and Connect! host a “Connecting with Connect Corner” at the Miami-National College Fair. Miami-Dade County Public Schools students and their families are privileged to have this exemplary exploration and planning tool at their fingertips as they plan their futures,” said Deborah Montilla, Executive Director of Division of Student Services at Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools has 16 informative sessions planned for attendees. The topics for these sessions range from “How to Prepare Smart for College” to “Transition from Career & Technical Education to College,” and will be offered in English and Spanish.

The Connect! Corner will include more than a dozen internet-ready laptops and mobile devices and be staffed between 12 and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
