Exploration & Planning

Online solutions inspiring informed education and career decision making.

The evidence is clear: when students can connect the dots between their academic studies and longer-term life goals, their motivation and likelihood of persistence increases. But absent a reasonable, informed vision for life after high school — and what it will take to get there — the importance of their education can often become lost.

In a nation where nearly two-thirds of all American jobs will require some form of postsecondary education or training by 20181, it’s more important than ever before to inspire and prepare students for postsecondary success as early as the middle grades.  In 2014, Graduation Alliance seized an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to advancing the lives of all students by acquiring the nation’s third largest exploration and planning platform (Connect!). From Honolulu to Miami to Boston and in hundreds of places in between, Graduation Alliance now provides scalable online solutions to increase the connectivity between coursework, skills and the credentials necessary for students to pursue a brighter future.

Graduation Alliance’s Exploration & Planning Platforms cultivate early development of the postsecondary awareness middle and high school students require, guiding them through a progression of intuitive, age-appropriate discovery and organization tools, including:

  • Individualized interests, skills, and values assessments connecting the critical intersection of preferences, aptitudes, and careers
  • Integrated academic and career planning tools to break down the course, training and program-of-study requirements of each career goal
  • More than 1,000 occupation profiles organized by career clusters and career pathways
  • More than 4,200 profiles of accredited two- and four-year colleges and universities
  • Easy-to-use application, transcript, scholarship and community service tracking
  • FAFSA tracking, college cost calculators and financial aid resources

Ensuring families and educators remain an integral part of their student's postsecondary planning process, Graduation Alliance’s Middle and High School Platforms fully support a set of role-based collaboration tools. Entirely FERPA, COPPA, and PPRA compliant, our platforms offer a suite of management tools to streamline the success planning, communication, and progress tracking needs of educators as they work with students to take the guesswork out of planning for life after high school.
